Being a parent makes you a better leader

🤪 Employees lose focus at work when they become parents.

That’s what I was once told early in my career.

But in my experience, people grow as leaders BECAUSE they are parents.

They have to manage competing priorities at work and home

They have to learn how to motivate people individually

They have to be laser focused on prioritizing time and energy

They know they have to lead by example

They have to deal with fire drills daily and keep them in perspective of the overall mission

They have learned to deeply care for the needs of others

They have figured out how to stay calm in the face of pressure

They know life is hard, but hard work is deeply rewarding

What have you learned as a parent that makes you a better leader at work?

If you’re struggling to be a leader for yourself, your family, or your business, let’s chat and share some strategies.
